Some hot gossip: Mischa Barton won’t be joining the cast of CW’s Gossip Girl. TV Guide reported that Barton, 22, had been approached to play Georgina Sparks, an old friend of reformed party girl Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively).
But her rep says, “She will not be on the show. She was approached, but her reps passed.”
Barton is now in Paris attending Fashion Week and promoting her upcoming drama Closing the Ring.
The actress — who was charged with DUI and marijuana possession this past week from a December arrest — last appeared on the Fox hit The O.C. Her character was killed off in 2006.
Despite rumors that she was ready to leave, she told Newsweek it was the producers’ decision to write her off the show. “But I really think it’s best to do movies now,” she said at the time.

Hayden Panettiere is opening up about why she ended her romance with Laguna Beach alum Stephen Colletti. “I just knew I wanted to breathe,” Panettiere, 18, says in the April issue of Seventeen. “I wanted to be single at the time. “It just hit me like a ton of bricks: This is the time I need to be with myself. It takes such a secure person to be with someone like me—it takes so much confidence; it takes so much trust.”
Panettiere found a way to spend her time alone: campaigning for whales. A warrant was out for her arrest in Japan after she interfered in a dolphin hunt last year.
“There’s very little that scares me,” she tells Seventeen. “I’ve always been a physical person. And I feel like a lot of time in this industry, a lot of people loan their face to a cause, which is great, but it doesn’t do as much as getting out there and actually physically doing something.”
Panettiere doesn’t apologize for being so outspoken. “I don’t need to prove myself to anyone,” she says. “I’m not that kind of person. “I know myself much better now than I did [before],” she goes on. “And my opinions of things and my morals – I am not as easily swayed as I used to be.”
“And when you learn to accept yourself, the more you learn to be okay with yourself and know yourself, the easier it is to love somebody and allow them to love you.”

After weeks of silence on the subject, Jolie’s rounded belly on the red carpet of the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday confirmed she was expecting. Angelina’s mom, actress Marcheline Bertrand, died last year and the star wants to embrace her French heritage by bringing up her new tot over there.

After a suicide attempt last August, Owen Wilson has been given a second chance at life – and, it seems, love. The actor was seen driving his silver Toyota Prius away from Kate Hudson’s Pacific Palisades home on Feb. 23.

Hudson, 28, broke off her yearlong liaison with her You, Me and Dupree costar last spring after it became clear to her that his partying took priority over their relationship, several sources told Us Weekly. The pair “are at a good place with each other,” a pal said.

Multiple sources told Us the 27-year-old singer and Hudson have been more than just friends at times.”It’s not constant and very casual,” a Hudson insider said. Charlie Sheen has admitted he is due to tie the knot later this year. The Two And A Half Men star, 42, got engaged to his real estate investor girlfriend Brooke Mueller last summer after they had been together for just over a year.
Speaking at the premiere of the latest series of the show, he revealed to the press that the couple had set the date, joking: “We’re gonna do it this summer, we’re tired of this question so we’ve been forced into this.”
Brooke, who was with Charlie on the red carpet, added: “You guys pressured us into it, so here we go!”
Charlie apparently proposed to blonde Brooke, who is 12 years his junior, on a Costa Rican beach with an engagement ring worth around $250,000.
The Hot Shots actor was previously married to actress Denise Richards, with who he has two young daughters, Lola and Sam. They divorced in November 2006.
His marriage to Brooke will be Charlie’s third.

Lindsay Lohan will get another chance to strip off and pose nude as Marilyn Monroe - if Hugh Hefner gets his way. Hefner wants the starlet to appear in Playboy recreating Monroe’s famous naked swim from her ‘Something’s Got to Give’ movie, according to reports.
Lohan recently stripped off in a New York magazine shoot to pay homage to Monroe. The racy shoot proved so popular that the magazine’s website crashed under the massive volume of hits.
Lohan, 21, paired with Monroe photographer Bert Stern to recreate the famous 1962 photo shoot of the blonde bombshell at the Bel Air hotel.
“Now we hear Lindsay is tempted to continue her nude homage to MM,” Liz Smith writes in the New York Post.
“Playboy’s Hugh Hefner has offered the young star the chance to re-create Marilyn’s famed nude swim from the unfinished film ‘Something’s Got To Give.’”

She’s committed to funnyman Jim Carrey, but Jenny McCarthy tells In Touch that they won’t be walking down the aisle.
“We’re living together, we don’t want any more children and we’re very happy — all that’s going to be is a piece of paper, really,” Jenny says of marriage. The 35-year-old divorced actress notes that marriage doesn’t mean love will last forever. “What is it a guarantee of? I’ll be yours forever? I’ll be faithful? Bull!”

Orlando Bloom is back with his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr, but it won’t last unless he kicks up his personal hygiene, friends warn.
“Miranda thinks Orlando is too smelly. Recently, she asked him if he could wash his clothes and perhaps shower more often.”
When he’s not working on a film, the Pirates of the Caribbean star, 31, “goes days without washing his clothes,” adds the source. “He’ll wear the same jeans for a week before he throws them in the washer. Same goes for his sweaters, T-shirts and socks.”
It doesn’t help that he sleeps with his dog, Sidi, and lets her slobber all over him.
Since Miranda, 24, told him to clean up his act, Orlando has been trying. But, says the source, he’s told friends “he doesn’t know if this relationship will last.”
