Howard K. Stern and Doctors Arrested for Conspiracy

Anna Nicole Smith’s former boyfriend Howard K Stern, who was also her attorney and claimed to be the father of her baby daughter Danielynn, was arrested Thursday on felony charges of conspiring to provide Smith with drugs prior to her death.

Records show Stern, 40, was arrested and booked on Whittier, California. Bail was set at $20,000.

Also charged in the case if two of Smith’s former doctors – Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich. The two are charged with unlawfully prescribing medication to the model. Kapoor, 40, was arrested and booked in Whittier. A warrant has been issued for Eroshevich’s arrest.

In addition, the trio was charged with “prescribing, administering or dispensing a controlled substance to an addict.” The conspiracy counts all that Stern, Kapoor, and Eroshevich conspired to provide controlled substances to Smith between June 2004 and January 2007.

Smith was 39 when she died of an accidental overdose of prescription medications in February 2007, only months after her 20-year-old son Daniel died of a lethal combination of drugs. She left behind 5-month-old daughter Danielynn.

Stern, photographer Larry Birkhead and German socialite Frederic Prinz von Anhalt all claimed they could be the father of Danielynn. A paternity test proved Birkhead is the father and he was awarded custody.
