Mel Gibson Calls Himself "Octo-Mel!"

In an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Mel Gibson spoke about his divorce from wife Robyn Moore and confirmed his girlfriend’s pregnancy.

When asked about his divorce, the actor took the blame. “My wife and I, out marriage ended three years ago and we’ve been separated ever since then. These things happen. It’s unfortunate, it’s sad, but you know she is an admirable woman – we still got kids together. We’re friends,” Gibson said.

“When it's all said and done, I did a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage myself. I'm to blame. If you're inclined to judge, put it here,” he added.

As for girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, Gibson says rumors of her pregnancy are true. “This is true. We’re gonna have a child,” he said.

“So that will make 29 (children)?” joked Leno. “Well, actually eight,” Gibson replied. “I guess I’m Octo Mel,” he quipped, joking about Octo mom Nadya Suleman.
