Michael Jackson Has Died

Michael Jackson has been hospitalized in Los Angeles after suffering a heart attack.

The 50-year-old King of Pop collapsed at his home around noon today. The Los Angeles Times reported that Jackson was not breathing when paramedics arrived. Captain Steve Ruda told the paper that Jackson was not breathing when paramedics responded to a call at Jackson's home around 12:26 p.m. PT.

"When the team arrived, they saw that CPR was already in progress by someone at the home. The person not breathing was transported to UCLA Medical Center and remains there."


A Jackson family member reportedly told TMZ that the singer is in "really bad shape" and his brothers are headed to UCLA. Jackson's father, Joe, reportedly told the site that his son is "not doing too well." "His mother is on her way to the hospital now to check in on him."

At 4:45pm, TMZ.COM began reporting that Jackson had passed away.

A source tells TMZ Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived. Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but they had no luck. We're told one of the staff members at Jackson's home called 911. LaToya ran in the hospital sobbing after Jackson was pronounced dead. Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.
