Michael Jackson will not be buried at his Neverland Ranch as his family was unable to obtain a residential exemption required for a burial on private property.
Jackson’s family wanted him to be buried on the property, which the King of Pop has owned since 1987. The family has also released a statement denying a public or private viewing will be held at Neverland.
“Contrary to previous news reports, the Jackson family is officially stating that there will be no public or private viewing at Neverland. Plans are underway regarding a public memorial for Michael Jackson, and we will announce those plans shortly,” the family said.
The Michael Jackson funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.
