Paula Abdul may not return to American Idol next season. Abdul is reportedly asking for $20 million dollars to come back to the hit Fox show. A demand that has been turned down so far. The other side has supposedly presented the idea of around $10 million.
Her manager David Sonenberg is playing tough, and probably made a few network execs squirm this weekend when he told the Los Angeles Times, "Very sadly, it does not appear she's going to be back on Idol."
Sonenberg says Fox has not put a contract on the table. “I find under these circumstance particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful. I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven’t stepped up and said what they want to do,” he adds.
Abdul, 47, has not commented. Auditions for the next season of American Idol are currently underway.
