Survivor couple Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich have welcomed their first child together. Amber, 30, gave birth to daughter Lucia Rose on July 4 in Pensacola, Florida.
“Both mom and baby are healthy and doing great,” Mariano, 33, tells People. “Lucia is a great eater and sleeps a lot, however she tends to be a bit of a night owl like her daddy at times. She is a perfect baby and we could not have asked for anything more. We are over the moon with happiness at her arrival!”
Lucia weighed in at 6 lbs., 11.5 oz. and is named after her paternal great-grandmother, who died on the Fourth of July.
The couple met and was engaged while competing on Survivor: All-Stars in 2004. Brkich had previously competed on Survivor: The Australian Outback in 2001 while Mariano competed in Survivor: Marquesas in 2002. Rob and Amber then competed as a couple on the seventh season of The Amazing Race and competed again in 2007 on The All-Star Amazing Race.
