Life is good for Simon Cowell. He is reportedly set to sign a $45 million a year deal with American Idol. The deal will keep him on the show for the next three seasons.
Other judges Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi will also remain with the Fox show either through a current or new contract. Host Ryan Seacrest recently renewed his contract.
Cowell previously hinted he may leave Idol soon, like longtime judge Paula Abdul did last week.
Robert Sillerman, the CEO and chairman of the parent company that produces American Idol, confirms that Fox “asked us to pre-approve him not only for American Idol ’09, which has begun taping, but they have also asked up for approval for ’10 and ’11, indicating to use that they’re finishing their negotiation with Cowell. We did grant approval for that quite obviously.”
