Sandra Bullock is reportedly helping her close friend and The Proposal co-star Ryan Reynolds save his marriage to Scarlett Johansson. Sources say the actress, who is married to Jesse James, is encouraging the couple to “weather” their problems and has even advised them to try couples counseling.
“Ryan and Scarlett have been going through a rough patch. Sandra is helping them weather it. She told them that every marriage has its problems — hers included,” a source says. “But she says they can get through it if they’re willing to put the time and effort into making things work, even if it means going to couples counseling.”
“Sandra told Ryan the most important thing is that he and Scarlett need to make time for one another, even though they both have busy schedules,” the insider adds. “Ryan listens to Sandra because he has tremendous respect for her as a person and an actress.”
Neither Reynolds nor Johansson have commented to rumors that their marriage is on the rocks. The couple was married in September 2008.
