Carrie Underwood is so paranoid about gaining weight, she keeps a strict food diary in a bid to keep herself slim. The singer admits that her obsession borders on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) - which sees sufferers indulge in irrational, compulsive behavior.
Underwood often thinks of herself as ugly and refuses to leave the house without make-up. And she admits to following strict guidelines when it comes to her diet to make her feel better about herself. She tells InStyle magazine, “I think about what I look like probably more than I should. But I think everybody is her own worst critic.
“Some days I step out of the shower, put my lotion on, and I’ll be like ‘Ugh, ew, ew.” “If I put on five pounds, it’s noticed immediately. I’m OCD like that. I count calories, fat and fiber - which is important in making you feel fuller faster - and protein, especially when I’m working out.”

Carrie Underwood isn’t crying a river over her recent split from Chace Crawford. “We broke up over text, so it’s like ‘peace out,’” Underwood, 25, told Extra at the Idol Gives Back taping in Hollywood Sunday. “It was completely mutual, we’re both fine.”
She said they haven’t talked “in a while, but I mean, I don’t dislike him. So it’s no big deal.” Their relationship “just didn’t work,” Underwood added, “and we both knew it didn’t work and [there are] no hard feelings at all whatsoever.”
Dating in the public eye is “difficult … because people always make a lot bigger deal of things than they actually are,” she said. Usmagazine.com was the first to report on their split. They called it quits because of their conflicting schedules, sources told Us. “They couldn’t spend time together,” a source said. “It was hard.”

After her win at the Grammy’s, Carrie Underwood talked about her next endeavor, which could be on the big screen.
“I’m not going to say what I turned down,” she told reporters at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party Saturday in Beverly Hills. “We have had some offers for different things, but nothing has really felt right.”
Her dream movie: A light-hearted comedy.
“I know I am not going to be the lead roles in some drama,” she said, “but if a small fun part comes open, than yes.”
I love how “please give me a movie role” is translated into “I am open to acting.” I know that nowadays everyone has to be the full package - singer/model/actor/artist/producer/writer….blah, blah, blah. Save it Carrie. I would stick to your abilities and just sing. Unless of course you are doing a role that has lots and lots of gratuitous nudity, then it would be ok.

American Idol winner Carrie Underwood reveals her doable slim down strategy for slimming down and getting healthy in the February issue of SHAPE.
Carrie tells us how she lost 20lbs!!! She hired a personal trainer to help her figure out the best equipment for reaching her goals- and the proper way to use it. They started with an elliptical machine for cardio, a balance ball for ab work, and free weights to tone her arms and shoulders. “We got really simple, basic stuff, because if it was complicated, I knew I wouldn’t have used it,” says Carrie.
“My favorite thing is cardio,” says Carrie. “It really helps the pounds melt off, and it gives me so much more energy. Now when I’m performing and running around the stage, it’s no big deal. Whereas before I was always gasping for breath. Working out has really paid off onstage.”
Once American idol made Carrie a bon a fide star, the singer’s weight became a popular topic in the tabloids and on gossip blogs. “I was heavier,” admits Carrie. “Still there’s nothing worse than going online and reading that someone called you chubby.” Now that she’s at a healthier weight for her body, Carrie is careful not to obsess over the numbers on the scale and vows t maintain a positive attitude in the high pressure celebrity world. “I’m a performer, and yes, being in good shape is part of the package,” says Carrie. “But I don’t ever want to get neurotic about my weight. I feel healthy and I know I’m a good size for me. And that’s what’s important.”

Happy Anniversary, Carrie and Chace! Okay, okay, it wasn’t actually their anniversary. But Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford, who have been dating since October, certainly looked every bit the happy couple as they laughed and danced at Marquee nightclub’s 4th Anniversary Party in NYC Thursday night.
The 22-year-old Gossip Girl star – who recently squirmed uncomfortably when Ellen DeGeneres flashed a picture of the couple – sipped bottles of Bud Light while cozying up with Underwood in a middle banquette.
At one point, the 24-year-old American Idol champ, wearing a jewel-embellished blue dress and knee-covering black boots, slipped onto the dance floor with her beau, throwing her arms around his neck as they danced suggestively.
The twosome then headed back to their table to watch the floor show, provided by performers in Oompa-Loompa costumes. They stayed there chatting until almost 2 a.m., when they headed out of the club together.

Carrie Underwood has a secret for eating healthy: accountability! “I’m slightly obsessive-compulsive about what I eat, more than I should be. I write down everything I eat,” the American Idol, 24, champ dishes in Glamour magazine’s January issue. “I started doing it last year. And in the last year is when I’ve gotten more healthy and lost weight.”
What does she eat? Well, no meat. She’s been a vegetarian since age 13. (Listen up, Chace Crawford: “I don’t think I could kiss someone after they ate a hamburger ’cause they would probably taste like it, and that would gross me out,” she tells Glamour.) Underwood also says she she enjoys cardio and “that big exercise ball.”

Poor Carrie Underwood - the “American Idol” turned country sensation just keeps picking men who cheat on her. First, she dated notorious ladies’ man Tony Romo. Then, she fell for “Gossip Girl” star Chace Crawford, who also has a wandering eye. Crawford was seen several weeks ago making out with a blonde who was not Underwood, and he spent Wednesday night at Beatrice Inn locking lips with his co-star, Leighton Meister - and it wasn’t for the show.

Simon Cowell may not have been in the crowd at L.A.’s Nokia theater Sunday night, but the American Idol vibe was alive and well at the 35th Annual American Music Awards.
While the striking writers left four-time host Jimmy Kimmel to wing his shtick (and attempt the Soulja Boy dance), Idol alum Carrie Underwood, straight off her wins at the Country Music Association Awards earlier this month, picked up three more trophies. “This is one heck of a night,” she gushed, accepting the award for favorite country album. She also won favorite country female artist and an audience text-in award for favorite artist. And, ever the Southern belle, she was overheard saying “holy cow” as her name was read for the second time.
Chris Daughtry, the other nominated Idol, joined his eponymous band, Daughtry, at the podium three times as they won favorite pop-rock album for Daughtry, as well as breakthrough artist and adult contemporary artist. “Wow. I can’t believe we’re in the category with Justin Timberlake and Linkin Park. It’s pretty awesome,” Daughtry said.
The night’s other big winners included Akon (soul/R&B male), Rihanna (soul/R&B female) and Justin Timberlake (pop/rock male and soul/R&B album), who accepted his awards via satellite from Australia, where he is on tour.
While Kimmel’s dancing left more than a little to be desired, the performance by Chris Brown and his dancers to “Kiss Kiss” – a literal high-wire act with hip-hop versions of Tron-style suits – had Celine Dion speechless backstage in the pressroom.
Likewise, Beyoncé and Sugarland’s countrified version of her hit “Irreplaceable” had the crowd on its feet.
On a serious note, Usher, Kid Rock and Rihanna took time to send condolences to Kanye West, who’s grieving the loss of his mother, Donda, whose funeral is set for Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

Sometimes a star isn’t just born, she’s styled. Us Weekly has compiled the 20 best celebrity makeovers, and sharing the cover are Katie Holmes for “Most Improved” and country star Carrie Underwood for “Sexiest New Style.”
Going from girl-next-door to full-on fashionista, Holmes, the former Dawson’s Creek star, wouldn’t be caught dead climbing t-shirt-clad through a window these days. Project Runway’s Tim Gunn tells Us of Holmes’ stunning transformation: “When she first was with Tom Cruise, she looked like a kid. Now she’s an elegant woman.”
As for Underwood, the American Idol champ who once bragged about her jeans collection is now a consistent red carpet charmer in top designers like Escada and Max Azria. “My fashion vocabulary has expanded!” says Underwood.

Carrie Underwood has said her pre-fame boyfriends are kicking themselves in the crotch for not staying with her. Yes, in the crotch. From People Magazine:
You had a hit with ‘Before He Cheats.’ Do you still keep in touch with your exes?
Not really because most of my exes are pre-Idol, so, yeah, I don’t really. [It’s like,] “Well, you wish you would have stayed with me, huh?” [Laughs]
Do you listen to talk about your looks or consider yourself a sex symbol?
No. If I didn’t do what I do, nobody would ever look twice at me. I’m a blender - and the only reason anybody, if they do think of me in that way, it’s just because I do what I do. I’m okay. But I’m not, like, anything special.
What the hell is a blender? In this context, I totally have no clue what she is talking about. I want to believe that Carrie really is this humble, but I have a hard time thinking that she doesn’t listen to comments about her looks.
