Drew Barrymore Makes $1 Million Charitable Donation

Talk about a “big give”: Drew Barrymore announced on Monday’s Oprah Winfrey Show that she is donating $1 million to the World Food Programme to help feed children in Africa. “I have seen with my own eyes what a difference a simple cup of nutritious porridge can make in a child’s life,” the actress said. “It helps them learn, stay healthy and sets them on track for a bright future.”
Barrymore, 33, has worked with the charity since 2005 and became an Ambassador Against Hunger last year. She’s taken two trips to Kenya to see the organization’s work first hand. “We have a dream … to feed another 10 million hungry school children in Africa by Thanksgiving Day,” said WFP Executive Director Josette Sheeran, who also appeared on Oprah.

Drew Barrymore Gives Rehab Advice

Drew Barrymore has come out trying to give some other celebs some advice for making it through rehab.
“If you don’t pull it together for yourself, no one else will,” she says in the March issue of Vogue. “That’s coming from a person who had to try it all … and who still loves to have a good time.”
Adds Barrymore, “I do believe in ‘Work hard, play hard,’ but ‘Work hard’ always comes first, and it did even when I was wild and young.”
She makes a good point. Drew is a veteran, she was drinking at 9 and blowing coke at 12….all before Blohan and the others were barely out of diapers. Think ET and Gertie blowing coke backstage - that’s hardcore. These starlets should listen to Drew…she has turned out O.K. for the most part.

Drew Barrymore doesn’t understand why she’s considered a Hollywood beauty - because she’s struggled with acne her whole life. The Charlie’s Angels star claims she faces a daily battle to keep her skin under control.
She says: “My only beauty recommendation is zit cream. I couldn’t live without it. I get zits all the time and they annoy me more than anything else in the world. I’ve used every face wash, acne cream, everything.” Drew admits she still lacks confidence in her appearance.
She adds: “It’s so funny because people say, ‘You’ve got such great skin’, and I’m like, ‘Are you kidding?’ “I guess now I’m getting older I’m getting more wrinkles to go with the pimples. Sometimes now, I think I’m starting to look like something out of Night of the Living Dead!”

Reese Witherspoon tops best-paid actresses

Even though her latest film, “Rendition,” was a flop, Reese Witherspoon is a moneymaker. The 31-year-old Academy Award winner commands $15 million to $20 million a movie, placing her at the top of The Hollywood Reporter’s annual list of the highest-paid actresses.
Angelina Jolie came in second with similar salary demands, though the animated “Beowulf” earned the 32-year-old actress far less just $8 million.
Cameron Diaz was third, with a $15 million-per-movie price tag. Nicole Kidman dropped to fourth place, two spots lower than last year, with an asking price of $10 million to $15 million a film.
Renee Zellweger and Sandra Bullock also get $10 to $15 million paychecks. So does Julia Roberts, who hasn’t appeared on the big screen since 2004. Her next film, “Charlie Wilson’s War,” is due in theaters in December.
Rounding out the top 10 are Drew Barrymore and Jodie Foster, who ask $10 million to $12 million per project, and Halle Berry, who gets $10 million a picture.
The salary list appears in The Hollywood Reporter’s “Women in Entertainment: Power 100″ issue, on newsstands Tuesday.

Getting Close

Apparently Drew Barrymore and her new man Justin “The Mac Guy” Long are getting very close. The couple spent Thanksgiving with Justin’s family in his hometown of Fairfield, Conn. The next day the couple chilled at Southport Brewing Company. An inside source reports:
“They started out in the bar area and then moved to a booth, where they sat next to each other and kissed and hugged.”
The two have been dating since late Summer.
I guess Drew really likes “The Mac Guy.” I just hope she isn’t a PC girl. That could be the nail in the coffin for their relationship. Plus, if she were a PC girl she would be more susceptible to viruses, which means she could die young and leave poor Justin heartbroken.

Drew Barrymore’s been spotted canoodling with “I’m a Mac” guy Justin Long, who also happens to be her costar in the upcoming movie “He’s Just Not that Into You.” But is Drew really that into Justin?
Since her early ’07 breakup with Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti, Drew rattled between rumored romances with Sophia Coppola’s ex-husband Spike Jonze and “Scrubs” star Zach Braff. In February, X17online exposed Drew and Spike locking lips at a romantic dinner at the Shore in Santa Monica. A spy for the celebrity Web site reported the couple was “all over each other” during their date.
That same month, the New York Post’s Page Six reported that Drew and Zach were “were very into each other” during a Saturday Night Live after-party. But a Barrymore rep told Page Six “There is no romance between Drew and Zach. They are simply friends.”
Of course in June, People reported that Zach and Drew were seen dancing at the Beauty Bar in New York City. “There was a moment when they kissed and it seemed almost blissful,” a source told the magazine. But only a few days later, People witnesses caught Drew and Spike at a Klaxons concert where the two were seen “cuddling and kissing in a VIP booth.”
Fast forward to Labor Day, which Drew and Justin spent in Las Vegas, where yet another People source spied the couple in a nightclub “making out the entire time.”
The action-getting actress provided some insight into what’s going on, and it’s something everyone can relate to. When asked if dating in Hollywood is hard, Drew told People, “I think it’s the same for everybody. Inter-office dating is as challenging as inter-Hollywood dating. It’s a small school, small town. We are forced to be in these circles. There are little seas and those are the fish we swim around. I wish everyone good luck in love because it ain’t easy, anywhere.” True that, Drew!

After the new loves were spotted cuddling at a party in L.A. August 25 and kissing three days later during dinner with pals at L.A.’s Pace August 28, the actress, 32, and the actor, 29, partied with Barrymore’s bud Cameron Diaz in Las Vegas on September 2.
While at the city’s club Jet, the duo danced a little and smooched a lot: “It was hot and heavy,” says an onlooker of the pair, who canoodled at a corner table until 4 a.m. “They were all over each other!”
