The Beautiful Life Hits Stars Hard

The cancellation of CW series "The Beautiful Life" comes as more than a disappointment to many. Several of the stars are stranded in NYC with apartment leases and no work. Sara Paxton is one such star:
The Beautiful Life Gets Cancelled

The first fall show to be cut is the CW's "Beautiful Life" starring Mischa Barton. The show only aired two episodes and the network announced today that it was pulling the plug.
Mischa's Wasted

I watched the premiere of TBL: "The Beautiful Life" last night and Mischa Barton actually was decent, to my surprise. She was sporting a serious man-voice though. Anyhoo, Mischa might be off the wagon because she showed up a little sloppy at some party in New York.
Mischa Barton Blames Her Wisdom Teeth
“I had an infection and a dry socket and I woke up on a Sunday morning and there was no doctor available,” Barton continues. “I was trying to take the minimum amount of pain killers and get through it because I had to go to work soon and I was getting ready to go do this show, ‘The Beautiful Life,’ and meanwhile I still had a schedule to travel. I was going to Europe. I was going to London. I had things to do and I was prepping to do photo shoots and I was just overwhelmed. I had so much work to do and the surgery had gone so badly for me. And I think that I was just starting to feel completely overwhelmed. It was just too much to have this surgery go so wrong.”
Mischa Barton - Really?

Ever see one of those somehow-candid celeb photos that shows what they truly look like? Even on the inside? This is it folks - Mischa Barton in her true colors. In completely unrelated news, Mischa is on some kind of diet that involves eating McDonald's before workouts.
“She had a bag of McDonald’s in hand and was complaining to someone who looked like a trainer,” a spy says. The former “O.C.” star was overheard pleading: “Do I have to?”
Mischa Barton Talks!

Mischa Barton is speaking out for the first time on her forced psychiatric hold last month. The actress tells Time Out New York that though the ordeal was “pretty bad,” it was still blown out of proportion in the media.
Barton, 23, says a combination of things lead to her hospitalization. Before she was set to start filming the CW show The Beautiful Life, she had been traveling abroad for “contract stuff” and then had surgery to remove her wisdom teeth, which went wrong and is “still just healing.” “I had to get through it without proper painkillers because I couldn’t take those during work. So it’s been a nightmare,” she explains.

Mischa Barton looks a little rough as she is seen with messed up hair and smoking upon arriving at the set of "The Beautiful Life" in downtown Manhattan on August 12, 2009.
